Welcome to Counsel that Connects!

I’m Jim Stevanus, and God has allowed me the privilege of investing the hope and encouragement found in God’s word over thousands of hours, in the lives of hundreds of individuals, couples, and families who are seeking help with challenges they are facing. Seeing God use His word to bring restoration in relationships, dispelling anxiety, conquering fears, overcoming anger, and ultimately strengthening individuals’ confidence in God and in the power of His word.

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus your own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

I’ve served in pastoral ministry, opening the Scriptures in the context of preaching, teaching, and one-on-one discipleship for the past 30 years. My own life has been greatly enriched through this lifelong pursuit. As I open the Scriptures to share counsel with others, I am continually reminded to first examine my own heart and allow God to speak to my own issues and find his grace in my life.

As you visit the blog and consider the timely truths found in the Book of Proverbs, I think you will find this content both accessible and quite relevant. The blog will be updated weekly, so I invite you to subscribe and check back often! Here you will find that Proverbs does indeed address every type of situation that any of us faces: anxiety, anger, fear, finances, discouragement, worry, facing criticism and harsh words, ethics, friendships, parenting hardships–yes, it’s all addressed in the Book of Proverbs!

If you find encouragement and help from this resource, please consider sharing with your family and friends!
